You Make Me Brave
I stand before You now
The greatness of your renown
I have heard of the majesty and wonder of you
King of Heaven, in humility, I bow
As Your love, in wave after wave
Crashes over me, crashes over me
For You are for us
You are not against us
Champion of Heaven
You made a way for all to enter in
I have heard You calling my name
I have heard the song of love that You sing
So I will let You draw me out beyond the shore
Into Your grace
Into Your grace
You make me brave
You make me brave
You call me out beyond the shore into the waves
You make me brave
You make me brave
No fear can hinder now the love that made a way
You make me brave
You make me brave
You call me out beyond the shore into the waves
You make me brave
You make me brave
No fear can hinder now the promises you made
I heard this song for the first time last night. It really hit my heart hard. I was starting to worry, not a lot, but a little. I was starting to wonder for the first time if I could do it. If I could really rely on God to provide everything I need. If I could really trust that I could leave everyone I love to follow where God leads and it be ok. This song felt like a reassurance of things that I know, but am prone to doubt. That I am not meant to live in fear of what might be. God makes me brave.
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
1 Corinthians 2:3 “And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling”
Romans 8:26-27 “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”
